The camp comprises 22 large luxury canvas tents each situated with undisturbed views along the Mara River. The stylish restaurant,  reception, lounge , bar area and gift shop with internet, are set on a raised wooden deck and furnished with accurate reproductions of Karen Blixen’s private furniture creating an elegant relaxed atmosphere.

The refreshing swimming pool surrounded by well-kept gardens offers relaxation and even a little exercise in-between game drives. Our resident masseuse offers a wide range of wellness and beauty treatments.

Karen Blixen Camp is the perfect place to sit back and relax with a gin and tonic overlooking the Mara River and the wildlife coming to drink, whilst exchanging stories about the day’s adventures.

The camp is located in the exclusive private, award winning conservation area, the Mara North Conservancy. The conservancy adjoins the Masai Mara Game Reserve and stretches north between the Mara River and the Olare River up to the Lemek Hills which it includes as well – with its 32,000 hectares and low vehicle density, the visitor is granted a private and exclusive wilderness experience away from the masses and minivans.

The Masai Mara holds a great diversity of species and it is advisable if time permits to spend at least 3 or 4 nights here.

Day 1: Nairobi – Mara North Conservancy, Masai Mara

Fly from Nairobi to Mara North Conservancy. Upon arrival game drive en-route to Karen Blixen Camp. After lunch at the camp go for an afternoon game drive in Mara North Conservancy. Overnight at Karen Blixen Camp. (LD)

Day 2: Mara North Conservancy / Masai Mara Game Reserve

During the Migration Season (mid July – end October) we will spend the whole day game viewing in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Masai Mara means dotted trees – and it is often in the shadow of these we find lions resting, a leopard finishing its prey or resting on a branch or a cheetah climbing a termite mount to scan the horizon for its lunch. Take a morning game drive before breakfast and your flight back to Nairobi. (B)
