Satao Camp is an exclusive tented wonder. Nestling among Tamarind trees, overlooking the busy watering hole. The camp provides tranquility and relaxation in the "Eden of East Africa" with the extra personal touch.
Satao is situated in Tsavo East National Park, approximately 45kms from both Buchuma and Voi Gates. The camp was built 8 years ago, it has 20 tents all en-suite, giving a total of forty beds , the tents are built in a semi circle ensuring all get a front row view of the watering hole.
Each tent has been constructed out of eco friendly materials, sisal and boriti poles topped with a makuti roof. They are attractively furnished with proper beds and unique masai decorative covers. The front of the tents have their own patio with table and chairs, there is also a disabled tent with wheelchair access.
You truly get close to Africa in true Safari Style, being part of the surroundings and at one with nature sleeping under
canvas in the African Bush.

One of the added advantages of visiting Satao is the vehicles, all are fitted with extra shock absorbers for comfort, they boast a "guaranteed" window seat for all. The Game Drives
are superb, all the drivers have incredible knowledge of the animals and their habits.
A day at Satao starts with the early morning game drive, you are woken at 6am, the coffee and tea are waiting for you in the restaurant. At 6-15 - 6-30 off you go exploring hoping to catch a glimpse of Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, your favorite animal perhaps.
You return at approximately 8-30 for breakfast where there is a selection of "Full English", "Continental" and fresh fruits in season.
After Breakfast, you may relax in your tent or go up to the observation tower and study the animals who have wondered into camp.
Lunch is served under the tamarind tree, the next game drive is 3.30pm to early evening, just when the animals are coming out after the heat of the midday sun.
On return from your game drive, have a "bush shower" in your tent and relax at the bar or swap stories of your days adventure round the camp fire. There is also an optional extra at Satao of a "Sundowner in the Bush"

This option is magnificent, you are taken out into the bush where a camp fire is lit,  bitings and champagne are served, watch the blazing red sun sink into the night, making it a truly wonderful experience.
